GS 2024 Holiday Mix

As we approach the end of 2024, we at GS are sharing two of our original hand-crafted cocktail recipes, inspired by two mythical mid-century mavericks of Madison Avenue, Don Draper & Peggy Olson. Don and Peggy were characters great campaigns were made of!

We're also sharing Jay's carefully curated, straight-from-the-heart playlist of Christmas music.

"I grew up in a family that went all-out on Christmas," he said in a massive understatement that would make Santa Clause blush. "That included playing nothing but Christmas music between Thanksgiving Dinner and New Year's Day. Thanks for humoring me as I pretend y'all love this stuff as much as I do."

"The music is not 100% 'Christmas music', per se. But it's all great. Money-back guarantee to those who get through all five hours and don't like it," he said with a wink.

All our best wishes to you and your families in 2025. We value our relationships with each and every one of you.

Peggy's Fizzy Gin Gimlet

gin, agave nectar, lime, absinthe, soda

In AMC's hit show about the Madison Ave mavericks of the mid-20th century, "Mad Men," Peggy Olsen emerges as a feminist icon: hardworking, no-nonsense – and cleverer than most of her three-martini-lunch bosses at Sterling Cooper. During the Holidays, we imagine Peggy treating herself to something beyond her usual gimlet: with a touch of absinthe and a splash of bubbles. Subtle, sophisticated and surprising, just like Peggy herself. Cheers, Ms Olsen — you earned it!

2 oz gin
3/4 oz agave nectar
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 bar spoon Absinthe
Shake & pour over ice w/ topper of club soda
Lime wedge and/or star anise garnish

Don Goes to California

mezcal, blanco tequila, triple sec, lime, tajin rim

Late in the 2nd season of the wildly popular AMC television series, “Mad Men,” dapper Don Draper finds himself in California, where he experiences a bit of unexpected zen. And, naturally, he soon finds himself swimming in LA counterculture. In the ‘60’s, Americans didn't often consume the traditional Mexican spirit mezcal, but if they had, it would be in character for Don to sip our smooth, smoky riff on the margarita. Perhaps the balanced flavor profile would have tempered Don's excesses — or not!

1oz mezcal
1oz tequila
1oz triple sec
1oz lime
Shake, strain over ice in glass
rimmed with Tajin salt
